U PICK LAVENDER JUNE 11-17, 19-20
A Week of U Pick Lavender in the Fields of Soul Food Farm
Morningsun Herb Farm and Soul Food Farm have partnered together to form the business Hierbas y Flores to plant beautiful fields of lavender in the country side of Solano county. During the month of June, the many varieties we planted all come into bloom, giving us a lovely field of lavender in shades of purples, blues, lavenders and whites. All the senses come alive in our fields – it is a grand spot to experience a view of lavender against the gold of the hillsides, the heady scent of lavender relaxation, the sound of bees industriously working the flowers, and the feel of slight stickiness of the essential oil exuding from the flowers and stems.
We invite you to come out to our fields during the flowering season to harvest your own bundles of lavender. There is plenty of space in the lavender field for social distancing, and we will be allowing only 20 people into the field at a time so that participants can enjoy a quiet, relaxing experience. We will also have some products available for sale made locally from our own essential oil and flower water, and the amazing olive oil produced by Soul Food Farm.
Please click on the links below to register for a day and time to come out and visit our fields. We are allowing a one hour period. There is no cost to register and to come out to the fields. Bundles of lavender will be $6 each. We will provide the ties and will have sanitized clippers and buckets available, although we do suggest you bring your own clippers and buckets if possible.
Please note the address for the field is Soul Food Farm, located at 6046 Pleasants Valley Rd. Bathrooms will not be available on site, but you can visit Morningsun Herb Farm, just 1/2 mile to the north, at 6137 Pleasants Valley Rd for bathroom and hand washing facilities, a second lavender field for viewing more varieties of lavender, and sales of lavender plants.
