A WEEKEND-LONG MULTI-SITE CELEBRATION OF ALL THINGS LAVENDER!
The Solano Yolo Lavender Farm Trail Weekend – June 22 – 23
Solano and Yolo counties are blessed with the perfect climate for growing lavender. Small family farms throughout the region have begun growing this fragrant, beautiful and useful plant in their fields, and as the weather warms local farmers are eager to share the lavender bounty with other enthusiasts.
In June, the beginning of the lavender harvest season is celebrated with an annual Lavender Weekend, spanning multiple venues across Solano and Yolo Counties. Offering family-friendly events and activities taking place in numerous locations, visitors are invited to meander through local lavender fields, participate in hands-on lavender classes and demonstrations ranging from art to aromatherapy and culinary to ornamental uses. Spend lazy, relaxed hours learning how lavender essential oil is extracted, or strolling through booths filled with fine arts, crafts, and the enticing sights and soothing aromas of the astounding varieties and textures of lavender.
Spend time at each venue during the weekend, enjoying a different story of lavender at each farm. Each of the six participating farms grows and uses their lavender in many different ways, and for many different products. The lavender trail is a great way to learn more about all the different ways to include one of our most beloved herbs in all aspects of your life.
