This is one of my favorite groundcovers, especially in areas where I know I (or the dogs!) will be stepping. It is a tough evergreen groundcover and is easy to grow. Soft gray foliage growing to only 3 inches tall, with fluffy deep purple flowers throughout the summer and fall make this a great choice for the sunny rock garden. I like to grow it along pathways, or as a groundcover around roses, because I can step on it without causing major damage to the plant. Mix it in containers with Salvia leucantha ‘Santa Barbara’ or Pelargonium graveolens ‘Attar of Rose’.
