Introduction to Family Herbalism – Class 3
with Lisa Marie Maryott
Herbs have been used for thousands of years to support health and address illness, and it was the family herbalists and village healers who held this knowledge of plants and used this medicine to take care of their communities. Today, many people want to return to these roots and use more natural and holistic ways to take care of themselves and their families. This Western herbalism workshop series is an introduction to the daily use of herbs/plants to maintain and improve the health of the individual and the family. We will discuss the basics of the body’s systems (physiology), common ailments and illnesses, and herbal, nutritional, and lifestyle remedies to improve immunity, energy and vitality. Participants will also make various herbal products and remedies in each of the classes.
This workshop series is divided into four classes. While the workshop is designed for the classes to somewhat build upon each other, they can be taken individually.
