‘Blaustrumpf’ is also called Blue Stocking Bee Balm, although the blooms are actually violet. The blooms are edible for humans, bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. It is a striking and subtly fragrant flower, and the leaves are used for teas. It prefers average water and good rich soil, and thrives best if divided every few years. This variety is more resistant to powdery mildew.
