This is one of our biggest growing Agastaches (4 feet), and quite frankly, always my favorite. I like gaudy colors, so pink and coral multi-colored flowers makes for my kind of plant. Flowers are on tall stalks, which make a vivid backdrop in the garden. If you live in a high wind area you may have to protect this plant from breaking, or plant it near your house or a fence. Whatever you have to do, it is worth it. The hummingbirds absolutely love this plant – we have it planted just outside our office door, and hummingbirds swoop over our heads trying to keep us away from their favorite flower. Since it has rather delicious edible flowers, I can understand their concern. Licorice scented leaves can be used for teas. Plant in full sun or a little afternoon shade in extremely hot conditions. Plant Scutellaria and Salvia greggii ‘Raspberry’ with it to really drive the hummers crazy.
